School makes everything so dorky!

Ok art scholars, help me out. I'm doing a presentation on bebop for my jazzhist. class next week, and I want to make a correlation between bebop and the later work of Jackson Pollock..
my question is, is this statement warranted? Does anyone know conclusively what music he listened to? I'm sure others have drawn the comparison between the music and his art- free expression but not CHAOS. I'm just wondering if it's real or just coincidental.
Thanks to all you who are smart!
[ps: King did you get my email a few weeks back about nabbing me a copy of the Jazz-Actuel boxset @ 33Degrees? email me!]
