Dallas punk memories...

posted by davel on January 11, 2002

"I'm going to see Jello Biafra tonight, at the ridglea theatre in fort worth. King & Dave, can you imagine our lives if something like this happened when we were 16, and punk bands and "luminaries" were playing at the ridglea?!"

I lived in Carrollton during high school (1984-1988.) My punk rock memories of Dallas...

1. Seeing Johnny Lydon put out a stage fire with a beer at the Arcadia Theatre.

2. Seeing Husker Du fight with each other on stage at Club Clearview.

3. Shopping at VVV records

4. Shopping at Record Gallery

5. KNON

6. Subgenius devivals at Dallas Comic Convention (ok, maybe comic conventions weren't very punk, but the Dallas Subgenius thing taught me a lot about not being normal.)

7. Wishing I didn't live in Carrollton.
